Description

This is really a test of bright stars plus nebula.  As M-45 has been rising I had it as an early morning target for much of last month with 60 sec subs RGB filters with the QHY 294mPro.  I looked and saw I had on the order of 832 minutes of subs evenly split between filters and decided to try and make an image. As you can see the reflection nebula shows pretty well but with the 60s exposures and gain set as for a faint NB target the bright stars are something of a mess saturated mess concealed a bit by an arc-sin stretch. I obtained a set of 20s subs which really made no difference for a HDR blend and realize the only path is to decrease camera gain. As soon as i can do so I will reduce gain from 1700 to about 400 which will raise full well up towards 50000e and also use ~20sec subs to better record the super bright stars in M-45 and see about blending.

Thanks for looking !
